Meet Week #2

Okay lots of information, but I will try my best to keep it brief.

Thursday at Hinsdale Central.  West/South bus order.  This will be their Senior night, so be prepared.  They almost always do diving in the middle so super long mid-meet break.

Friday is Senior Night at B.R. Ryall YMCA.  Warm-ups will be at 5:30pm, meet will start at 6:00pm.  We will be done by 7:15pm, not counting post meet festivities.

Saturday we are at Metea Valley Invite.  I have yet to recieve a meet packet, but soon as I do I will build the line-up and we will sort out entries and leave time.  This will be communicated at practice.

Morning practices this week....  This week we will begin the transition into the Sectional and Conference rest groups.  So here is each groups schedules

J/V - M or W, whichever is home
Conference - Monday & Wednesday
Sectionals - Monday & Wednesday + Friday @ South

This will be further communicated at practice.

Finally, tech suits, sorry for no prices but I haven't received them.  Tech suits fall into 3 categories-

Entry level - This can range as anything from a new suit to a FS Pro.  Ultimately as long as the suit is tight it doesn't matter much else. These are normally not kneeskins.

Cheap Tech Suit - These suits are stitched suits.  Such as the FS Pro, or some of the lower tier Arena options.  The thing to know about stitched suits is that any bagging of the fabric gets extremely problematic very quickly.  These are all kneeskins

High-end tech suit - These are "bonded" suits.  These are what you see on TV anytime that swimming is on television.  These are the suits that legitimately changed the sport of swimming.  I do hate them, but they are amazing and make people faster.  There are roughly 25 different suits on the market, ultimately find one that fits.

Please get these ASAP as if they don't have one in stock they have to order.  Try them on if needed.  Swimmer's Edge in Woodridge is an amazing resource for suits, so please call them and order from there.

I will be communicating a ton of information through practice, so please ask me if you need anything.

Week of 10/12

No practice on Monday 10/13.

Very solid week of competition last week.  Though we lost to DGN, I felt it was our best performance during a midweek meet so far this season.  Saturday we completely ran away with the meet.  Despite only winning 2 events(to LWN's 7) we still won the meet by 90 points.  Huge show of team on Saturday and I'm extremely proud of the way it was done.

Andrew Week

Another relatively uneventful week.  Please note there will be another blog posts later in the week about tech suits.  Check back on Wednesday to see it.

Last week wen went to York and got to swim some off events.  Obviously, we lost, but we did swim very well and could have put our selves in contention with them if we wished. Not ideal amount of stress on the kids though so I try to stay away from that.

No event winners.

This week we are at DGN on Thursday for a dual meet.  Format should be identical to York with diving first, but not for certain.  Bus will go West -> South -> DGN.  Meet is scheduled to start at 5PM.

Saturday we are at the Andrew Invite.  Traditionally one of our big meets of the season.  We are the defending champions and people will be gunning for us.  This is a limited entry meet with 3 individual entries and 2 relays per event, so roster could be as small as 12 kids.  Bus leaves at 8am.  Location is TBA.  Meet starts at 10AM.  Anyone not swimming is encouraged to attend, Varsity underclassmen not swimming really should be there.
