1) Slight change to practice schedule for Tuesday 10/13/15.  Morning weights is at 8am at West.  Usual attendance is expected, so all Varsity and West JV.

2) Thursday night we are at LT for their Senior night.  Diving starts at 5pm.  This is our longest meet of the year.

3) Saturday AM practice is TBA at this time.

Andrew Week

Lots of information today so please check the whole thing.

1) DGN Dual meet this coming Thursday.  Bus will go West->South and reverse on the return.  Should be a relatively quick meet, though it could be their Senior night. 5pm meet start.

2) Andrew Meet.  Bus will leave at 7:40am from South.  Meet starts at 10am.  Should be home by 3pm.  I will get the roster to the girl's by Tuesday, possible tomorrow.

3) Tech suits.  For anyone who doens't know what a tech suit it look through some of the older blogs from early October.  Goes into great detail on them, what they do, and why they are important.  Simply put, tech suits are legal cheating, as they flat out work and make you faster.  So the question is what is the best, or proper suit for you.  The following are the 4 tiers that I consider for Senior Level swimming.  Please note:all pricing is for the highest level suit within that tier, not the average.

Tier 1 - This is not a tech suit, simply a new suit.  Any new, tight fitting suit.

Tier 2 - Stitched Suit.  Basically the entry level tech suit.  These are a good bit cheaper than the higher tier suits, but aren't as high quality from a performance stand point or from a how long they last stand point.  Example: Speedo LZR Pro - $179.

Tier 3 - Bonded Suit.  Joints are now bonded instead of stitched.  This helps the suit be both faster and to last a bit longer.  For the most part, these are the suits that were worn in the 2012 Olympics.  Examples: Speedo LZR Elite/Arena Carbon Pro/Blue70 Nero 14/TYR Avictor $300.

Tier 4 - Plastic Bonded.  This is the newest level of suit on the market, and you will pay for it.  This will be on your TV in the Olympics pretty much exclusively.  That said, I don't recommend these as the price point is too high for High School Aged athletes.  Also with the suits being so new we have no idea how durable the suits are. Example: Speedo LZR X, Arena Carbon Flex - $312.

Finally, the most important part of tech suits is finding the correct suit that fits.  There is nothing worse for a suit than to be too loose.  Girl's also have to consider the size and shape of their bodies into which suit is the best for them. Some suits are notorious for having really wide hips(Speedo), where other suits are known for being extremely narrow through the bust(Blue70).  Basically, get to Swimmer's Edge, and try on some suits.  Take care of this ASAP as they always run out of suits.

York Results

York meet went fairly well as we had our last meet of the season where we focus on our off events.  With only 4 meets left till Conference we will start to be more focused on our championship events.

Varsity lost, but JV was a tie.  First time we have tied JV with them, which is a good sign and shows our ever improving depth.

Moving forward to this weekend there are 3 important pieces of information

1) Glenbard West Pep Rally - I just got this information, so sorry for the late information.  All West athletes are expected to participate in the Pep Rally.  They need to arrive down by the weight room in Biester by 5:30pm.  Pep Rally is scheduled to start at 6:00pm.

2) Saturday AM practice - Varsity only at the YMCA. 7-9am

3) Saturday West Booster Pancake Breakfast - The annual Booster Breakfast on Saturday should be attended by as many athletes as possible immediately after morning practice.  Costs is $6 and a great way to support the Booster program who has helped us a ton over the past few years(jackets....)
